Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Beyond the Walls Ministry is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. BTW Community members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as cleaning the church to preparing the church newsletter.
There is no place of service that is less than another, but all are profitable for the building of the Kingdom.

 Outreach

Beyond the Walls Minisry is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world through projects and evangelistic outreach. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry.  Some  are involved in the choir.  Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Beyond the Walls Ministry, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  See Minister Jemeka Burris for details.

Ushers

The usher team at Beyond the Walls Ministry fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.  Please see James Adams if you would like to serve in this vital area.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Beyond the Walls Ministry. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats.  We currently publish  monthly newsletters that focus on reaching both adults and young people.  We are also working to maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication.  See Joyce Greer if you have web building, audio/visual or technology experience and would like to help.

Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry at Beyond the Walls is active in both church and community.  Each month, the women participate in  planned outreach activities including visits to nursing homes or women’s shelters.  See Ministers Juanita Tate or Parthenia Greene for information.

Intercessory Prayer Team

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Beyond the Walls  Ministry is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, before the morning service (9:00 a.m), a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Intercessory Prayer team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.  See Joyce Greer for details.

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Beyond the Walls holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.  Volunteers  who love children and are committed to their spiritual, mental and emotional growth are always needed in this area.  See Minister Parthenia Greene for more information.

Summer Enrichment Program

Each summer, Beyond the Walls Ministry hosts a summer enrichment program. The week-long event involves games, a lot of teaching, great food, good worship, and the intentional influence of summer enrichment counselors. The enrichment counselors are selected, screened, and trained for this important youth ministry. They find that their ministry is personally rewarding, and both students and counselors grow in the process.  See Maya Alexander if you want to help.
